Modular Home History:
Modular Home construction dates back to 1908 when Sears, Roebuck and Company sold more than 100,000 homes by mail order by 1940. They were referred to as "Box Homes" or "Kit homes" and were ordered by customers and send by rail cars.
Typically, two boxcars would arrive at the nearest train depot with almost 30,000 pieces for new home builders to assemble with the help of the provided 75 page instruction manual. Over the years, there have been several manufacturers to offer modular homes. It wasn't until the early 1990's when these companies no longer offered a do-it-yourself version. Now, homes were were being delivered to the customers property after being pre-built in a factory. With the advances of technology and the implementation of modern construction methods, Tri Tech Modular Homes has the ability to offer strong, energy efficient homes that will last for decades to come.

With the use of a technologically advanced building facility, state-of-the-art building techniques and Energy Star products, Tri-Tech Modular Homes is able to give our customers a high quality, cost effective end product. Modular homes are built in a controlled environment. The process starts with lumber that has been checked numerous times for a specific moisture level before building. This process ensures a house that will be produced with less future stress cracks and settling due to shrinkage of the lumber. Modular homes are built with shipping in mind using 2x6 exterior wall construction and a "glued and screwed" construction process to produce a more stable structure during the movement and installation of each module onto a completed foundation. Modular homes are typically built with 20-30% more lumber than a traditional stick-built home; therefore the construction is more solid, which increases the strength and durability of the home.

Speed of Construction
Speed and consistent quality are two many advantages for choosing modular technology in your new home. Because modular homes are constructed in an enclosed environment, there is little exposure to changing weather conditions, and any elements that could cause a set back for a house built onsite. Typically modular constructed homes are completed in one-third the time needed to construct and complete a stick-built home. Modular home manufacturers have some of the most technologically advanced facilities in the building industry. These homes are all built in a factory where as many as 100 experienced craftsmen/women will work on each one of the homes complex components. Actual time of construction at a factory typically would take several days, as opposed to the several weeks or even months due to weather set-backs, to complete the same amount of work in a stick-built home. After your modular home is completed in the factory, it is then shipped by truck to the building site and placed on the foundation by crane. Final completion, known as the "turn-key" is then handled by our partner company, Tri-Tech Construction Group, LLC which includes: connection of utilities and a list of interior and exterior finish work.
Modular homes are built to meet or exceed all state and local building codes. In addition to the inspections done by full-time quality control engineers from the manufacturer, each modular home is inspected and approved by an independent licensed agency to ensure that quality standards and building codes are all met at various stages of construction. The third party's seal of approval appears on each piece of a modular home before it leaves the factory's grounds.
"Going Green" is a lifestyle choice that can help save you money, conserve resources, improve your homes comfort and enhance safety. A green home is generally 20-30% more energy efficient than a standard stick-built home. You could save hundreds of dollars on your energy bills, in the era of skyrocketing energy costs, you will save hundreds on your energy bills. These savings help make your home more affordable. A "green home" also provides a healthier living environment with better protection from outdoor pollutants and allergens. In order for a modular home to qualify for the Energy Star Certification, the home must be at least 15% more energy efficient than a standard home. With the use of a "state-of-the-art" building process and utilizing Energy Star rated products such as windows, doors, foam based insulation processes, sealant and thermal barriers, the modular home construction far exceeds the usual stick-built competition. The Green label and energy rating remains as a permanent part of your home and will be a tangible asset at time of resale.
